What You Need Before You Register on MakeMyTrip

Most rejected applications fail on paperwork, not on the property. Keep these ready as scans before you start, and registration takes one sitting instead of three.

Requirement	What MMT Expects
GSTIN certificate	Required if your turnover crosses the GST threshold. Small homestays below it can register with a declaration instead.
PAN card	Of the hotel entity, or of the proprietor for a sole proprietorship.
Cancelled cheque	Bank account name must match the PAN name, or payouts get held.
Trade licence or registration	Municipal trade licence, shop and establishment certificate, or state tourism registration.
Property photos	25 or more, at least 1280×960px. Listings below 25 photos rank and convert noticeably worse.
Registration fee	None. MMT charges no joining fee. You pay commission only on bookings that come through.

Who Can Register

MMT accepts hotels, resorts, guest houses, homestays, villas and service apartments. Your property needs a physical address, at least one bookable room, and the legal right to accept paying guests. There is no minimum room count.

How Long MakeMyTrip Registration Takes, and What It Costs

Two questions come up before every listing. Here are the honest answers.

• Time. Registration itself takes about 30 minutes. KYC approval takes 3 to 7 working days. Content and photo setup takes another day or two. Budget about two weeks from sign-up to your first booking.
• Cost to register. Nothing. There is no joining fee, no annual fee and no listing charge.
• Cost to sell. Commission of 15 to 25 percent per booking, 18 to 22 percent for most independent hotels. On a ₹3,000 room night at 20 percent, MMT keeps ₹600 and you receive ₹2,400 before TDS.
• Optional costs. Promotions and Smart Deals fund a further 5 to 8 percent discount out of your own rate. These are opt-in, not compulsory at sign-up.

Why Registrations Get Rejected or Delayed

• Bank account name does not match the PAN name
• Blurred or cropped document scans
• Trade licence expired, which is the most common single reason
• Fewer than 25 photos, or photos below 1280×960px
• Property address on the licence does not match the address entered

Photos and Content That Drive More Bookings

MMT's algorithm ranks listings partly on content quality. Hotels with better content get more impressions and higher conversion rates. Once you are live, the MakeMyTrip ranking guide explains Content Score, reviews and the other signals that decide where you appear.

Photo Requirements

• 25 photos or more. This is what MMT expects, and fewer holds your ranking back
• Resolution: 1280×960px minimum (1920×1080px recommended)
• Must include: room interior, bathroom, property exterior, common areas, dining area
• No watermarks, no text overlays, no heavy filters

Content Checklist

• Property description: 150+ words, mention key landmarks and distance from railway/airport
• Amenities: Mark every available amenity accurately, misleading info leads to bad reviews
• Room types: Create separate listings for each room category (Standard, Deluxe, Suite)
• Policies: Set clear check-in/check-out time, cancellation policy, and extra bed charges

MakeMyTrip Commission and Payouts

MakeMyTrip charges 15 to 25 percent commission per booking; most independent hotels pay 18 to 22 percent. On top of that, MMT deducts 18 percent GST on its commission, 0.1 percent TDS and 0.5 percent GST TCS before it settles. Settlement is weekly, 7 to 14 days after checkout, by NEFT or RTGS. On a ₹3,000 booking at 20 percent, you keep about ₹2,274 of the ₹3,000 room rate after these deductions.
